ABOUT ME

From Cinema to Web

IMG_7680.jpg

I am a media design student exploring the intersection of film, emotion, and digital storytelling.

With a strong interest in Wong Kar-wai’s aesthetic, I aim to reinterpret his cinematic world through a visually immersive website.

As a viewer, I was moved by the stillness, restraint, and longing in Wong’s films.

As a creator, I hope to translate these emotions into an interactive visual experience online.

When designing the interactive structure technically, I maintain the mainstream web page habits in navigation methods and button layouts. In the implementation, I try to add a series of interactive animations to simulate the feeling of "lens sliding" and space advancement in films. In UX design, I set up a variety of buttons to make the webpage more interactive and operable. When the mouse slides over the text, a movie-like picture will appear to guide you to the relevant page.

In order to enhance the integrity of emotions and aesthetics, I use coding to achieve some interactive effects beyond the inherently restricted functions. For example, the web page regulation limits the automatic playback of audio, which hinders the immersive experience to a certain extent. Thus, I used the automatic playback coding to set it to automatically play when entering the page, which greatly improved the aesthetic experience of the web page.

Tools & Process

Design tool: Wix Studio

Visual editing: Photoshop, Canva

Video & Audio: Cut Pro

Coding support: HTML embed, autoplay script

A webpage is not just a display, but a poetic container for feeling.

In digital space, emotion can flow — slowly, softly, like a Wong Kar-wai film.
